  • Caring for Your Guitar
    1. Wipe down the neck with a dry cloth after every use to remove oil and sweat and prolong the life or your strings.

    2. A toothbrush with a little soap and water can go a long way. Use these to clean your fret board every time you change your strings then wipe it dry. This is also good for your new strings as well.

    3. Don’t have any guitar polish? High quality furniture polish will really bring out the color of the wood and keep your guitar looking good for years to come.

    4. Take it inside! Don’t keep your guitar in your car. Prolonged exposure to the elements can cause numerous problems. Too much heat will cause warping and finish problems and wooden guitars can look old and faded within days. Too much cold and you risk the binding, inlays, and neck.

    5. If you are from southeast Texas you are no stranger to humidity. If constantly tuning and re-tuning leaves you less than inspired you can purchase a small capsule that is simply left in the guitar case and forgotten. It will stabilize humidity inside the case and is available at most guitar stores.

    6. If you hear jingling or clanking the problem may not be so severe. Regularly tighten all screws and strap-pins so your next gig doesn’t sound like a pocket full of change.

    7. There are no second chances with rust. Keep your guitar clean and dry. Spend the extra money on a guitar case. Consider it an investment.
