A former Bridge City High School teacher was sentenced Friday for having an improper relationship with a student.

26-year-old Megan Michelle Sparks was sentenced to five-years probation.

As a stipulation if she violates that probation, she will serve five-years in jail.

Sparks plead guilty to the improper relationship earlier this month.

She resigned from the school less than a week after she was placed on administrative leave.
