A Silsbee man was in the hospital Tuesday after he passed out following a police chase.

It started when the man sped through a school zone near Marshall Middle School in Beaumont.

Officers caught up to him at the intersection of Major Drive and Highway 105.

He caused a minor wreck involving three vehicles.

The man ran from the scene. Eventually an off duty officer stopped him.

A short time later the man passed out.

He was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

He's in custody for evading arrest.
