It's been a while since I went to go see a movie that was 100% for the little ones. My original plan was to go review "Jennifer's Body," but I had my fill of Megan Fox with "Transformers," and I'm very full. So I headed into Hollywood Theaters preparing myself for what I just knew was going to be an over-the-top silly movie with just enough laughs to keep the kids entertained. It turns out that the old saying about keeping your words soft and sweet turns out to be true, because as I walking out the show I was definitely chewing on mine.

Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller took authors Judi and Ron Barrett's beloved kids book and put together one tasty movie that had everyone laughing, myself included. The movie was filled with slapstick humor fun for both child and parent to enjoy, and even sprinkled in a few humorous moments us big kids can relate to as well.

Our story takes place on the little island of Swallow Falls, hometown of the wacky inventor Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) whose lifelong dream has always been to be the greatest inventor ever. Over the years he's had more misses than hits, until he creates a machine that can create food. At first, the invention is pretty sweet, just name a food, Flint presses a button and your made-to-order meal falls right from the sky onto your plate...or right into mouth, which ever you prefer

But then things get sour; when the greedy mayor Shelbourne (Bruce Campbell) gets a hold to the food machine, well let's just say he bites off more than he can chew. As the food gets bigger, so does the town's problems, like that giant spaghetti twister in the picture. Now its up to Flint and nerd-undercover weather woman Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) to stop the fiasco before Swallow Falls turns into a giant food fight, and the food's winning it.

With the right blend of parent/kid comedy, moments of everyday situations we all go through and memorable characters voiced by the likes of James Caan, Mr. T and even Al Roker, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" has a great chance of being the best family movie of the year. After seeing all of that food, I am HUNGRY!!
