  • 10/22 Green Products Fact or Fiction

It seems like every company these days is promoting a green product. But we're finding out that some of them don't back up their claims.

If you listen to the media hype America has changed colors. It’s gone from red, white and blue to green.

Almost every business claims to be environmentally friendly. For some it’s just a pitch line. Others seem to be backing up their claims.

Home Depot and Wal-Mart have both launched major eco-sensitive programs.

A significant portion of home depot’s products now come from sustainable sources.

Wal-Mart is reaching out to local farmers. It wants to use their products instead of buying from foreign countries or distant states.

Wal-Mart also found a way to save money when it comes to packaging products.

Sam's Club has switched to square milk jugs. That allows the company to stack them on top of each other. The net result is more containers on each truck. That saves gas and lowers prices.

The best way to determine whether a company is truly green is to do a little research. There are plenty of sites on-line that critique companies and products. The other is to look for yourself. Is a company truly backing up its pledge with a tangible product?
