Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office arrested Child Support Evader Dean Greer on Sunday for failing to pay court-ordered child support.

53-year-old Greer owes more than $40,000 for the care of a daughter from Beaumont, who is now 20.

He is being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail for failing to pay child support. He faces up to six months in jail on the charge.

In 1990, Greer was ordered to pay $120 per month for his child’s care.

Greer, who had the ability to make his payments, did not follow the court’s order to support his daughter financially.

An arrest warrant was issued after Greer failed to appear at a September 2007 enforcement hearing.

Due to missed payments and interest that accrues on the past due balance, Greer now owes more than $40,000 for the care of this child.
