Reported by: Weather Staff Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @10:56am CST The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Sabine River near Burkeville, Bon Wier, and Deweyville.
The warning is in effect until further notice. The river levels started to rise more overnight in Deweyville. At 9:15 Tuesday morning, the stage was at 25 feet. The river is forecast to rise above the moderate flood category of 26 feet Tuesday night and rise to a crest around 28 feet this weekend. In Burkeville, the river is near crest just above 44 feet and will remain above that through Wednesday. In Bon Wier, the river is still rising towards a long broad crest around the major flood category of 36 feet Wednesday into Thursday. |
