Over 100 Hardin County residents attended the meeting. Most of them supported the change. Several officials said it wasn't an easy decision for them. They say they agree with many of the Republican platforms. This includes limited government, low taxation and the right to carry a gun. They add the change was something they've been considering for a while. Here is a list of the elected officials that switched parties.
