Wednesday, May 28, 2008 @05:30pm CDT There isn't always a happy ending for children in foster care, some reach the age of adulthood before finding a family to care for them. But several businesses are making sure those children are not forgotten. The Department of Family and Protective services is partnering with several businesses this spring. They're giving graduating seniors who are still in foster care an easier transition into their new lives by throwing them graduation parties. Each child can register for gifts such as comforters, pillows, laundry detergent, towels, soap, and even gift cards. Most teens will be attending college in the fall and say the gifts are a huge help. KBTV-4 is sponsoring an emancipation shower on Wednesday, June 4th for a very special young man. To find out how you can help a graduating senior in foster care call the Department of Family and Protective Service at (409) 951-3351.
