Early voting started today for Port Arthur's runoff election scheduled for Saturday, June 21st.
The early voting period will run through June 17th.
Kerry Thomas and Tom Henderson are vying for the Position 8 council seat.
That seat is being vacated by Michael Sinegal, who is the Democratic nominee for Jefferson County commissioner, Precinct 3.
Sinegal faces Libertarian Kevin McCarthy in November.
Sinegal tells us that starting July 1st, he'll begin working as Commissioner Waymon Hallmark's administrative assistant.
Hallmark is the outgoing Precinct 3 commissioner.
Sinegal currently works for the Port Arthur Independent School District, he'll resign that position to work Hallmark.
