Reported by: Ericka English Wednesday, Jun 18, 2008 @05:03pm CDT When Wayne and Shandola Langham began to consider adoption, the number two came to mind until they heard about five children who needed a "forever family."
"We got the original four then I found out about Marshall. At that time we found out we were expecting our own child." Shandola said.
She says within six months she and her husband welcomed six children in their home.
And with lots of support from her church and family there is always an extra pair of hands to help with the children she calls, "good natured."
"Robert is the oldest, he's our book worm. He looks out for the little ones. Haley is always smiling, she's tender-hearted. Jayden is quiet, loving and kind of shy. Chandler is our comedian, he likes to make people laugh. Marshall is quiet until he gets around other children. Ethan was born to us, he's the baby and they treat him like the baby."
The Langhams say they fell in love with their adopted children instantly, and feel blessed that they are lowering the number of children currently in foster care.
"If I had Ethan first I don't know if we would've adopted."
That's why she believes everything happens for a reason.
