A member of the prominent Stark family wrote the book "If the Devil Had a Wife," which was published last month.

Rebecca Stark Nugent wrote a book, which seems to be causing a cloud of controversy in Southeast Texas.

In the book , Nugent alledges there is more to the Stark family than met the eye.

However, as any tale goes, there are two sides to the story.

Nugent is the granddaughter of H.J. Lutcher Stark, a household name in Orange. The Stark Foundation is named after him and his third wife. This book has the Stark Foundation concerned.

In a statement released to us they say the book is nothing more than a "tall texas tale."

Despite the controversy surrounding the book, Rebecca Stark Nugent held a book signing tonight--a signing that was very well attended.

Nearly 500 came to get their copy of the book signed, and some waited in line for over 3 hours.

Nugent says, "I think they liked the book, I hope they like the book. And I just, I can't tell you how honored I am that they would be so supportive and turn out with big smiles on their face and wait this long."

The book is only available online at one local store due to the controversy surrounding it.

Nugent says she hopes to return to the area to sign more books.
